The Company
Xunlight Corporation, a technology spin-off from the University of Toledo, engages in the development, manufacture, and marketing of photovoltaic modules that convert sunlight into electricity. The company develops thin-film silicon based photovoltaic products and manufacturing equipment for high-throughput production of flexible and lightweight photovoltaic modules at low cost.

Xunlight Corporation is headquartered at 3145 Nebraska Avenue in Toledo, Ohio, and works closely with the Thin Film Silicon Photovoltaic Laboratory at the University of Toledo.
Management Team

Dr. Xunming Deng, President & CEO, and Co-Founder
Dr. Deng, a recognized authority in thin film silicon based photovoltaic, has broad experience in the design, construction, and optimization of high-throughput photovoltaic manufacturing equipment. Dr. Deng received his PhD in physics in 1990 from the University of Chicago with a dissertation focused on amorphous silicon. Dr. Deng is also a Professor of Physics and Professor of Electrical Engineering at the University of Toledo, and directs UT's Thin Film Silicon Photovoltaic Laboratory. He is currently on a leave of absence from UT to spend full time at Xunlight Corporation. Prior to joining the UT faculty in 1996, Dr. Deng was Senior Scientist and Project Manager for Photovoltaic Development at Energy Conversion Devices, Inc.'s Machine Division, which builds roll-to-roll PV production lines for amorphous silicon PV module manufacturing.

Michael H.T. Yang, Vice President, Manufacturing
Dr. Yang has over 25 years of hands-on and leadership experience in Photovoltaic, Microelectronics, Optoelectronics, and III-V Compound Semiconductor related Materials and Devices Industries. He has extensive experience in high-volume manufacturing operations, technical management, and technology transfer. Prior to join Xunlight Corporation, Inc., Dr. Yang has been engineer, technical manager, director, VP R&D and manufacturing, CTO, President/CEO for various companies including Rockwell International, IBM Corporation, Hughes Aircraft Company, Tecstar Inc, and Visual Photonics Epitaxy Co. (VPEC).

Mr. Stanley L. Rubini, Vice President, Facilities and Support Operations
Mr. Rubini held numerous positions during his 25 year career with Dana Corporation, ranging from Production Supervisor and Plant Superintendent to Plant Manager, Vice President and General Manager, Vice President - Corporate Development, and Executive Vice President - Operations. Mr. Rubini's diverse experience includes Manufacturing Operations, Venture Capital and Commercial Finance, Plant and Division Management, Corporate Merger and Acquisition work, New Product Development, and Intellectual Property Management. Mr. Rubini earned a MBA and a JD from the University of Toledo.

Dr. Liwei Xu, Vice President, Finance, and Co-Founder
Dr. Xu has a PhD in chemistry from the University of Chicago in 1991. Dr. Xu is responsible for Company's finance, accounting and government contracts. Previously, Dr. Xu was a Senior Scientist at Energy Conversion Devices, working on various R&D and manufacturing activities for nickel metal hydride batteries. She is also a co-inventor on numerous US Patents.

Mr. Richard Podlesny, Manager, PV Machine Building
Mr. Podlesny has decades of experience in amorphous silicon photovoltaic manufacturing. He was one of the key persons at BP Solar (formerly Solarex) responsible for the construction of BP Solar's 10MW a-Si PV production line. He has built several other large area deposition systems at Solarex/BP Solar. Mr. Podlesny currently leads the equipment construction effort at Xunlight Corporation.

Dr. Aarohi Vijh, Manager, PV Product Development
Dr. Vijh received his PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Toledo, for his work in fabricating monolithically interconnected, triple-junction amorphous silicon based PV modules on lightweight and flexible substrates. Dr. Vijh is the inventor/co-inventor of several patent-pending technologies in the photovoltaic areas, including a light-assisted shunt passivation process critical for increasing production yield and a proprietary process for low-cost fabrication of flexible solar modules. He currently leads the photovoltaic development efforts at Xunlight Corporation.

Xunlight Corporation is funded by Emerald Technology Venture, NGP Energy Technology Partners, angel investors and various government research and development grants.
