The Company
Xunlight Corporation, a technology spin-off from the University of Toledo, engages in the development, manufacture, and marketing of photovoltaic modules that convert sunlight into electricity. The company develops thin-film silicon based photovoltaic products and manufacturing equipment for high-throughput production of flexible and lightweight photovoltaic modules at low cost.

Xunlight Corporation is headquartered at 3145 Nebraska Avenue in Toledo, Ohio, and works closely with the Thin Film Silicon Photovoltaic Laboratory at the University of Toledo.
Management Team

Dr. Xunming Deng, President & CEO, and Co-Founder
Dr. Deng, a recognized authority in thin film silicon based photovoltaic, has broad experience in the design, construction, and optimization of high-throughput photovoltaic manufacturing equipment. Dr. Deng received his PhD in physics in 1990 from the University of Chicago with a dissertation focused on amorphous silicon. Dr. Deng is also a Professor of Physics and Professor of Electrical Engineering at the University of Toledo, and directs UT's Thin Film Silicon Photovoltaic Laboratory. He is currently on a leave of absence from UT to spend full time at Xunlight Corporation. Prior to joining the UT faculty in 1996, Dr. Deng was Senior Scientist and Project Manager for Photovoltaic Development at Energy Conversion Devices, Inc.'s Machine Division, which builds roll-to-roll PV production lines for amorphous silicon PV module manufacturing.

Masat Izu, Senior Vice President, Engineering
Masat Izu joined Xunlight Corporation as Senior Vice President, Engineering. He will provide key technical leadership for Xunlight's commercial expansion of Si thin film PV manufacturing processes and equipment. Over 30 years Masat Izu played key technical and management leadership at Energy Conversion Devices, Inc. (ECD) for its commercial expansion from R&D to a leading thin film PV module manufacturing company. He created and led the team that developed lightweight, thin a-Si PV modules and manufacturing technology and equipment as Vice President of ECD, Production Technology and Machine Building Division. At ECD, his team under his leadership developed and commercialized, from a batch R&D machine to the most recent automated 30 MW production plants, triple-junction a-Si alloy PV technology using continuous roll-to-roll manufacturing processes. He was the leader in the development, design, construction and startup of 10 PV pilot and manufacturing machines. He possesses extensive knowledge in PV technologies, business, and world-wide markets/applications. Masat Izu received his Dr. of Engineering from Kyoto University in1968. He coauthored a number of key patents and technical papers in a-Si roll-to-roll manufacturing technology and related areas.

Matt Longthorne, Vice President, Corporate Development and Strategies
Matthew G. Longthorne is vice president of corporate development and strategies for Xunlight Corp. He recently joined the company after a 19 year career in the glass container industry working for Owens-Illinois (OI). Mr. Longthorne joined O-I in 1988 and served in a variety of assignments with the company's U.S. glass container operations, including sales service specialist, industry analyst, accounts manager, and manager of finance and budget analysis. He was named materials manager at the Los Angeles glass container manufacturing plant in 1997 and became plant manager at the Toano, Va., glass container manufacturing facility in 1998. Mr. Longthorne served from 1999 to 2004 as director of glass container finance and administration and was named corporate controller in 2004. In April, 2005, he was promoted to the position of president for OI's North American Glass Container business where he had overall responsibility for the $2.3B business. He is a 1988 graduate of the University of Michigan and received an MBA degree in finance from University of Rochester's Simon School of Business in 1993.

Granger Souder, Vice President, General Counsel
Mr. Souder is an accomplished, business-oriented legal executive with over 20 years of leadership experience in M&A, change initiatives and strategic planning. He joined Xunlight after a 17 year career with Sky Financial Group, Inc., an $18 billion diversified financial services holding company, where as its Executive Vice President & General Counsel he was responsible for mergers and acquisitions, financing transactions, and overseeing all legal affairs before the company was acquired by Huntington Bancshares in 2007. Mr. Souder is currently responsible for the Company’s legal and regulatory affairs including corporate compliance and governance, contract administration, and the legal aspects of joint ventures, strategic partnerships and financing activities. Mr. Souder is a graduate of Wittenberg University with a degree in Business Administration and has a Juris Doctorate from the University of Toledo, College of Law.

Dr. Liwei Xu, Vice President, Finance and Administration, and Co-Founder
Dr. Xu has a PhD in chemistry from the University of Chicago in 1991. Dr. Xu is responsible for Company's finance, accounting and government contracts. Previously, Dr. Xu was a Senior Scientist at Energy Conversion Devices, working on various R&D and manufacturing activities for nickel metal hydride batteries. She is also a co-inventor on numerous US Patents.

Michael H.T. Yang, Vice President, Manufacturing
Dr. Yang has over 25 years of hands-on and leadership experience in Photovoltaic, Microelectronics, Optoelectronics, and III-V Compound Semiconductor related Materials and Devices Industries. He has extensive experience in high-volume manufacturing operations, technical management, and technology transfer. Prior to join Xunlight Corporation, Inc., Dr. Yang has been engineer, technical manager, director, VP R&D and manufacturing, CTO, President/CEO for various companies including Rockwell International, IBM Corporation, Hughes Aircraft Company, Tecstar Inc, and Visual Photonics Epitaxy Co. (VPEC).

Mr. David Buzby
Mr. David Buzby has served as a director since April 2008. He has been an Independent Non Executive Chairman of Sun Edison LLC., since November 21, 2007. He also serves as Sun Edison's Outside Director. Since 1988, Mr. Buzby has been involved in establishing and/or acquiring private and public businesses ranging in size from $5 million to over $500 million in revenues. As an investor and a member of the senior management or the Board, he has helped create over $3 billion of public market value for investors from these activities. Most recently, he was a Director at Prevalent Power, a leading solar installation company in California that was recently acquired. Mr. Buzby holds a BA from Middlebury College and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Mr. Markus Moor
Mr. Markus Moor has served as a director since May 2007. Mr. Moor is a Partner at Emerald Technology Ventures. He is responsible for the firm’s investments in the fields of emerging energy technologies. Mr. Moor has a particular focus on renewable energy, distributed generation, portable power, and biotechnology based energy solutions. He is involved from the initial phases of the investment process and assists management during the partnership period. Mr. Moor’s main contributions include due diligence of technologies, manufacturing processes, and market opportunities as well as a broad support to portfolio companies. His prior experiences include R&D positions in the field of process engineering, managing positions in European and South East Asian engineering projects as well as responsibilities in asset management with regard to clean technology funds. Mr. Moor holds a B.S., with honors, in Mechanical Engineering and an M.S., with honors, in Economics and Technology Management from the University of St. Gall.

Mr. Mark Iwanowski
Mr. Mark Iwanowski has served as a director since April 2008. He has twenty-five years of experience successfully leading multiple global businesses in the high tech industry for both commercial and government customers. Mark was most recently Senior Vice President Global IT for Oracle Corporation, the world's largest enterprise software provider with $15B in revenue. Mark was responsible for managing Oracle's IT systems in 100+ countries around the globe. Mark was also a principle in Quantum Magnetics, an industry leader in explosive and illegal drug detection technology. Mark held executive positions with Raytheon and Honeywell. At Raytheon on, he was responsible for top line growth in the Submarine Signal Division where he managed a $200M sales and R&D budget. While at Honeywell, Mark was responsible for the turnaround of the company's marine robotics business unit back to profitability. Mark currently serves on the Board of Directors of several Trident portfolio companies including RoyaltyShare, Inc., MegaPath Networks, Xunlight Coporation and is the CEO and a member of the Board of KSR, Inc. He also serves on the Board of Advisors for Tricipher and formerly for Webify (acquired by IBM). Mark holds a B.S. in engineering/business from the University of Pennsylvania, a master's degree in engineering from California Institute of Technology and an M.B.A. from National University and has received multiple management excellence awards throughout his career.
